Jade, integrative counsellor at NuMind Counselling
About me · Meet Jade

Hi, I'm Jade. Welcome to NuMind.

Growing up, I was exposed to a wonderful diversity of people, cultures, backgrounds and ways of life. Being around people with different experiences and perspectives sparked my curiosity about what shapes us, and taught me the importance of listening without assumptions or judgement. I want people from all backgrounds to feel welcomed, respected and accepted at NuMind Counselling.

My journey into counselling

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 10 years working in schools, supporting children and young people with their emotional wellbeing and helping parents navigate their relationships with their children. That experience inspired me to develop my skills and train as a counsellor.

During four years of counselling training, I completed two years of placement supporting clients through relationship difficulties, low self-worth, self-harm, anxiety, grief, divorce, overwhelm and trauma.

Alongside my counselling training, I also qualified as a personal trainer. I have a real passion for helping people feel better in themselves — emotionally as well as physically. I value the connection between movement, confidence and mental wellbeing, and how looking after our bodies can support the way we feel. My counselling sessions are tailored to your needs; fitness training is part of my background, not a requirement of counselling.

Why this work matters to me

Throughout my life, I've witnessed, supported others through and experienced mental health struggles. I've also had counselling myself and gained so much from having a space to feel heard and understood. Those experiences, alongside my professional training, have deepened my compassion for others.

I'd describe myself as caring and genuine, with a real passion for helping people. I love hearing people's stories and understanding the experiences that have shaped them.

At NuMind, I aim to offer a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can be yourself, explore what's going on for you and work towards greater self-understanding and emotional wellbeing.

Let's figure things out together.

How NuMind Counselling can help

Support for whatever you're carrying.

You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Counselling can offer time and space to explore what matters to you.

Anxiety & overwhelm

A gentle space to explore stress, anxious thoughts and the pressures that can feel hard to manage.

Self-worth & confidence

Explore self-criticism, build self-understanding and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

Grief & loss

Time and space to talk about bereavement, loss and the changes that come with them, without pressure to feel a certain way.

Parenting issues

Support to explore the challenges of parenting, family relationships and your connection with your child.

Relationships & life changes

Talk through relationship difficulties, separation, divorce, difficult transitions and changing circumstances.

Simply a space to talk

You do not need a diagnosis or a specific problem. Sometimes it helps to have someone listen without judgement.

Life transitions

Space to explore new chapters, changing roles and the uncertainty that can come with major life events.

Finding purpose

Explore what matters to you, what feels meaningful and where you would like life to go next.

Coping with change

Support when circumstances shift and you are finding your feet in something unfamiliar.

Low mood & depression

A supportive, non-judgemental space to talk about difficult feelings and how they affect your everyday life.

Confidence building

Explore self-doubt, recognise your strengths and work towards feeling more comfortable in yourself.

Support is tailored to your individual experiences, needs and goals.

Understand. Heal. Grow.
“You don't have to have the right words. You only have to start where you are.”

Good to know

Questions you might have.

Starting counselling can bring up lots of questions. Here are a few things that may help.

Do I need to know what to talk about?

Not at all. You can begin wherever feels comfortable, even if you're unsure how to describe what you're feeling.

What happens in a first session?

We can discuss what brings you to counselling, what you hope to gain and how we might work together. I’ll explain the counselling agreement and answer your questions.

Is counselling confidential?

Counselling is generally confidential, subject to safeguarding, legal and ethical limits. Your counsellor should explain these limits and their privacy policy before you begin.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. I offer online and face-to-face counselling. Sessions last 50 minutes, apart from the free 15-minute initial consultation.
